Speaker Bios:
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is Chairman of the Board and Chief Legal Counsel for Children’s Health Defense. His reputation as a resolute defender of the environment and children’s health stems from a litany of successful legal actions. Mr. Kennedy was named one of Time magazine’s “Heroes for the Planet” for his success helping Riverkeeper lead the fight to restore the Hudson River. The group’s achievement helped spawn 300 Waterkeeper organizations across the globe.
Mr. Kennedy serves as President of Waterkeeper Alliance and of counsel to Morgan & Morgan, a nationwide personal injury practice. He was previously Chief Prosecuting Attorney for the Hudson Riverkeeper, Senior Attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council, and a Clinical Professor and Supervising Attorney at Pace University School of Law’s Environmental Litigation Clinic. He is co-host of Ring of Fire on Air America Radio. Mr. Kennedy has a long list of published books including the New York Times’ bestseller, “Crimes Against Nature.” He is a graduate of Harvard University, studied at the London School of Economics and received his law degree from the University of Virginia Law School. Following graduation, he attended Pace University School of Law, where he was awarded a Masters Degree in Environmental Law.
Dr. Andrew Wakefield has been likened to the Dreyfus of his generation, a doctor falsely accused of scientific and medical misconduct, whose discoveries opened up entirely new perceptions of childhood autism, the gut-brain link, and vaccine safety. As an ‘insider’, the price for his discoveries and his refusal to walk away from the issues they raised, was swift and brutal, with loss of job, career, reputation, honors, colleagues, and country. And yet he enjoys a huge and growing support from around the world.
Wakefield’s stance made him a trusted place for whistleblowers from government and industry to confess and ‘download’. He has extraordinary stories to share. Wakefield is now an award-winning filmmaker. Despite elaborate attempts at censorship, his documentary VAXXED – the revelations of a vaccine scientist at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention- changed the public mindset on the truth about vaccine safety. Wakefield’s is a story that starts with professional trust in the instincts of mothers, choice and consequences, a quest for truth, and perseverance against overwhelming odds.
Dr. Judy Mikovits earned her BA in Chemistry with a specialization in biology from the University of Virginia in 1980 and her PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology from George Washington University in 1992. Upon graduation from the University of Virginia, she went directly to the National Cancer Institute in Frederick Maryland where she developed purification methods for Interferon alpha. It was this interferon, which was used in the first immune therapy treatment for hairy cell leukemia in 1986. In 1986-7, prior to enrolling in graduate school, she went to Upjohn Pharmaceuticals in Kalamazoo Michigan to develop production methods to insure biological materials manufactured using human blood products were free of contamination from HIV-1. Her PhD thesis defense titled “Negative Regulation of HIV Expression in Monocytes” changed the paradigm for therapeutic treatment of HIV. For this work, she was awarded the graduate student of the year in 1991.
In 2001, Dr. Mikovits moved back to industry where she developed multiplex diagnostic epigenetic and proteomics expression technologies for the prevention and treatment of Cancer and prediction of Immune Related Adverse Events to chemotherapy/immune therapy in susceptible populations.
In 2006, she became attracted to the plight of families with neuroimmune diseases including myalgic encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Dr. Mikovits co-founded and developed the first neuroimmune translational research institute dedicated to understanding the pathophysiology and treatment of Neuroimmune diseases [ME/CFS, ASD, Parkinson's Disease (PD), Neuroborreliosis/Chronic Lyme Disease (CLD), Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) among others]. In five short years, Dr. Mikovits published seminal papers on the first isolation of a new family of infectious and transmissible retroviruses (HGRVs/XMRVs) associated with Neuroimmune diseases and cancer and more than 6 million dollars of NIH/DOD competitive funding in grants and contracts for this program demonstrating the relationship between environmentally acquired immune dysfunction, chronic inflammation and these diseases.
Her pioneering work during her twenty-year career at the National Cancer Institute includes the discovery of the modulation of DNA methylation machinery by human retroviral infection and the development of the concept of inflammatory cytokines and chemokine signatures of infection and disease, which was first published in 1999, when she directed the Laboratory of Antiviral Drug Mechanisms in developing therapeutics and diagnostics for HIV/AIDS and AIDS associated malignancies. These are therapies that are still standard of care twenty-five years later and credited with saving millions of deaths from HIV/AIDS.
In her thirty-five-year quest to understand and treat chronic diseases, she has co-authored seminal papers culminating at least a decade of research in each of four fields: immunology, natural products chemistry, epigenetics, and HIV/AIDs drug development. In addition to more than 50 peer reviewed publications and book chapters, Dr. Mikovits holds patent # WO 2012061790 A1. “Combination Therapy for Prostate Cancer using Botanical Compositions and Bicalutamide” and authored the books, Plague and Plague of Corruption.
The formation of M.A.R.C. Inc. in 2016 with colleague, Dr. Frank Ruscetti, has afforded Dr. Mikovits the opportunity to come full-circle back to her first love, natural products chemistry. M.A.R.C. Inc. is a consulting company focused on education for prevention and treatment autoimmune/auto-inflammatory diseases resulting from drugs and environmental toxins. Her heart and passion is to focus on natural products chemistry and plant based drug therapies. Her current focus is on medical cannabis with breakthroughs in understanding of the pathophysiology and treatment of neuroimmune diseases as acquired endocannabinoid immune dysfunction (AEIDS).
Dr. James Lyons-Weiler is a biomedical research scientist with expertise in genetics and disease and treatment biomarkers. Originally an evolutionary biologist, he tutored under Dr. Masatoshi Nei at Pennsylvania State University in Molecular Evolutionary Genetics. As a faculty member in the Departments of Pathology and Biomedical Informatics at the University, Dr. Lyons-Weiler taught full courses and as a full faculty member helped Dr. Ronald Herberman and faculty in the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute procure over $27 ½ million in collaborative grant funding surrounding biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and prognosis. He founded, with Drs. Art Levine and Michelle Broido the state’s first Bioinformatics Analysis. Over 12 years, he designed and conducted or directed the analysis of over 100 basic, translational and clinical research studies.
Dr. Lyons-Weiler has authored three books on very important topics such as Ebola:An Evolving Story, Cures vs. Profits and The Environmental and Genetic Causes of Autism. He was the founder of the Ebola Rapid Assay Development Consortium and he is now the CEO and Director of the Pittsburgh-area Institute for Pure and Applied Knowledge, a pure public charity focused on reducing human pain and suffering. IPAK has just launched the new IPAK Public Health Policy Initiative by which the accuracy with which science is translated in to public health policy is evaluated.
Shannon Powers is the mother of three Amazing children and a grandmother to two beautiful little girls. Her youngest daughter is a victim who was severely injured by the Gardasil vaccine. Mrs. Powers is a Paraprofessional with a Title One reading endorsement. For the past fifteen years she has worked with children who are diagnosed with Autism and other severe disabilities. These last few years she worked for Pickaway County Board of DD providing within her county schools, support and training for teachers and the staff by implementing certain techniques that would improve behaviors in Autistic and severe disability individuals.
Mrs. Powers is a huge advocate for education on the DANGERS of inoculations especially the Gardasil vaccine. She works closely with Sanevax.org as the Ohio ambassador for all Ohioans injured by the HPV vaccine. She is also serves as an administrator for the group, “Ohio Gardasil Injured.” She provides support, education, understanding and love to all who are blessed to know her. Helping others injured by this vaccine understand that they are not alone on this very difficult journey is of paramount importance to Mrs. Powers.
Mrs. Powers recently joined Dr. James Lyons-Weiler of IPAK (Institute for Pure and Applied knowledge) and WWDNYK-studios as The Executive producer for the podcast “Breaking Science with Dr. Jack,” as well as spreading awareness of what TRUE science actually is.
Mrs. Powers has helped others by her caring and nurturing ways to see what adverse reactions from vaccines can look like. By sharing scientific research and her own personal experiences, Mrs. Powers hopes to educate as many individuals and families as possible, so when the time comes for others to make a decision on their own or on behalf of their children's health, they may have TRUE informed consent.
Destiny Maynard is the mother of Christopher Bunch, a fourteen-year-old boy from Moline, Illinois who passed away on August 14, 2018, from vaccine induced Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) forty-six days after he received one dose of the HPV Vaccine.
Since his passing, Destiny has committed her life to raising awareness around the dangers and risks of the HPV vaccine. Through her social media platform and website, ChristopherBunch.org, she has connected with tens of thousands of people from all over world who have formed “Christopher’s Army,” a loyal network of individuals who share Christopher’s story and his message across online communities.
In addition to raising awareness, Destiny advocates on behalf or her son and other families. She regularly attends ACIP meetings and events held by different state organizations throughout the country. Destiny testified before the Illinois Public Health Committee in May of 2019, which led to the removal of false and misleading information from SJR 43, a resolution that encourages adolescents to receive the HPV vaccine.
Destiny is currently working on building The Christopher Bunch Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring her son and continued advocacy efforts. When Destiny is not advocating for her community, she enjoys spending time with her beautiful children and loving husband.
